Welcome to Verbatim Books!

Verbatim Books is a mostly secondhand bookstore with a selection of over 60,000 gently-loved and antiquarian books. We have a curated selection of new books including new releases, classic favorites, staff picks, and more. We also carry local zines, tarot decks, journals, stickers, art prints, and anything else that catches our eye!

Our stock is extremely curated to help you find quality editions of classics, favorites, and new discoveries. We want to have “something for everyone,” and have sections for almost every genre, including fiction, romance, poetry, children’s picture books, middle grade, YA/teen, horror, art, local history, military interest, SF/fantasy, and graphic novels.

Verbatim Books also produces popular community events such as the North Park Book Fair and the San Diego Book Crawl. We have hosted performances for hundreds of local authors, musicians, artists, and poets. Check out the Events page for more information on our upcoming events!
